Product Design

The Challenge
Solana memecoin holders are not professional traders. They do not understand loan-to-value ratios, liquidation thresholds, or what happens to a leveraged position during a 20% price drop at 3 AM. Getting that wrong is not a UX failure. It is a financial one.
Sendit's architecture had no direct UX precedent: long-only, every SPL token in its own isolated pool, no cross-collateral. We could not copy a competitor's flow and ship. The product had to be designed from the protocol up, across three full iterations of the core lending and borrowing component before the interaction model was right.

The Solution
After auditing every major DeFi lending protocol, we mapped Sendit closest to Aave's isolated markets — battle-tested at scale with a large user base. We rebuilt those interaction patterns around Sendit's constraints: a four-tab modal (Deposit, Withdraw, Borrow, Repay) that recalculates borrowing power, liquidation price, and LTV in real time with every input change.
The LTV risk system uses four visual states — Safe, Very Risky, High Risk, Liquidated — updating live so users see the consequence of every action before they confirm it. We also designed the markets table, margin trading view, yield vaults, and a system of shareable PnL cards that spread organically across X and Discord.

The Concept
DeFi protocols live or die by community trust. In the memecoin world, that trust is not built through whitepapers or investor decks. It is built through culture — through the language, the humor, and the references that signal you are one of them. The founders wanted a character who could carry the protocol's voice on X and Discord. We art directed Apu the Frog as Sendit's Risk Manager: multi-monitor trading setup, deep degen energy, and a job title the community would immediately understand. Apu is the internet's most recognizable expression of financial fatalism. He has seen the crash. He held through it anyway. He is exactly who you want managing your risk.
His role was to give financial advice in the only tone this community trusts: sarcastic, self-aware, and openly skeptical of whatever you were about to do. Every post was written to resonate before the protocol had TVL to speak for itself. The character gave Sendit something most DeFi protocols never have at launch — a personality.
